Glorious Goodwood Horse Racing Tickets
From 31st July to 4th August 2012 - Sussex's Goodwood Park

The famous July races, described by King Edward VII as 'a garden party with racing tacked on' are world renowned. Taking place at what is often described as 'the world's most beautiful racecourse' the five-day Festival Meeting is a riot of colour, fashion, famous faces and spectacular hats.

A firm fixture in the English summer Season for 200 years, all of society's cognoscenti descend on Goodwood each year to revel in its ravishing setting as well as to marvel at the world's top jockeys, trainers and horses as they battle it out on top of the Sussex Downs. The views are truly breathtaking, and there are few sporting spectacles more exhilarating than watching the world's greatest thoroughbreds battling for the honours.

Goodwood makes its own fashion statement - casual linen suits and Panama hats for the gentlemen and flirty summer frocks topped with eye-catching hats for the ladies. Its as much about effortless chic as it is about horseracing at its most relaxed and chic.

Grand National 2012 Winner

16/04/12 - GRAND NATIONAL 2012: NEPTUNE COLLONGES HEADS OFF FOR WELL-EARNED RETIREMENT AFTER THRILLING AINTREE VICTORY

Now, with the epic last-stride victory of Neptune Collonges on Saturday, Hales has gained entry to that most special of clubs, the one reserved for owners of a Grand National winner.

In 1998, One Man came to Liverpool off the back of his most famous victory, in the two-mile Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

He had won 20 of his 34 starts, but he took a crashing fall in the back straight and paid the ultimate price.

In the great emotion following Neptune Collonges’s triumph, Hales said: “Aintree owed me one.” It certainly did. Tears of sorrow had turned to tears of joy for the Teletubbies tycoon.

The official winning distance of a nose was introduced only a few years back, and this, the shortest possible winning margin, had never previously been posted after a Grand National. Possibly, in earlier days, the judge would have declared it a dead-heat.

Formula 1 Grand Prix

13/04/12 - SCHUMACHER FASTEST IN CHINA WARM-UP

Michael Schumacher showed the one-lap pace of the Mercedes with the quickest time of free practice two ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix.

After a slow first practice on a soggy morning in Shanghai, the drivers were busy in the afternoon under overcast skies, with Schumacher edging out Lewis Hamilton on the timesheets.

Hamilton had gone quickest in the morning session, but was just under two-tenths adrift of the German veteran's best effort on softer tyres and low fuel, set midway through the session.
